UFC 135 picks

Romero over TeHuna.
X LOSER--TeHuna knocked out Romero with little effort in 47 seconds.

Mizugaki to beat Escovedo. Mizugaki has only lost to top notch talent. He's just the better fighter in this one.
√ WINNER--Mizugaki finishes with a nice KO in the 2nd round.

Yagin over Assuncao
X LOSER--Assuncao whooped his ass.

Boetsch will beat Ring. Tim Boetsch keeps improving and Nick Ring has never impressed me.
√ WINNER--Boetsch as usual out lasted and finished strong. Nearly snapped his arm at the end of the second round.

Riley should humble Ferguson. TUF winner Ferguson is overrated in my opinion. Aaron Riley is a solid fighter, this may surprise me and be a good fight.
X LOSER--Riley's jaw got broken with a left uppercut. Ferguson looked good, way better than I've seen him perform before.

Hunt over Rothwell. Hunt usually disappoints me, but I keep picking him anyway.
√ WINNER--Both guys were exhausted in the last round but Hunt did dominate the entire fight. The Denver altitude took it's toll on both fighters...Hunt was just the better fighter tonight.

Diaz over Gomi. Gomi is in trouble if it goes to the ground. Nate will submit him.
√ WINNER--Diaz dominated Gomi in every aspect. As soon as it went to the ground Nate submitted him.

Browne to beat Broughton. Travis Browne SHOULD win this one.
√WINNER--Browne dominated Broughton easily.

Hughes to handily defeat Koscheck. Hughes is just a step above Kos. Josh is a smartass and Hughes loves to beat up a loudmouth. Look for him to embarrass Koscheck, because he will! I think this will be fight of the night.
X LOSER--Hughes had the first round won and in the last 25 seconds, Koscheck clocked him then followed up with a hammerfist that devastated Hughes with 5 seconds left in round one.

Jones will wipe the floor with Rampage. The story of this fight will be range..and who uses it effectively. Jackson can knock anybody out..if he can get his range. I think Jones will use his long reach to frustrate Jackson, soften him up and then pounce when he staggers Rampage. The kid has a gift comprised of good angles, accuracy and range.
√ WINNER--Jones slowly dismantled Jackson until the 4th round. Roughed him up and took his back and sank in the rear naked choke...making it look easy.

I usually do better than 60% but tonight I took a few underdogs.  Knockout of the night should go to Koscheck. Submission of the night to Nate Diaz and fight of the night to Tim Boetsch and Nick Ring. We'll see how the UFC calls it!
*UFC awarded Jones and Jackson fight of the night.
